Wish I would have been just a little closer, but I didn't want to spook the horse. He and his rider had just been down in a canyon checking cattle. The owner had come back up on the mesa where the trailer was parked, tied up the horse and gone to eat lunch. It was a big, rough canyon, and the horse was tired and at ease during his break. It is a common sight for me, but not for a lot of people, so I thought others might enjoy seeing it.

Just love it, peace and solitude, it might be a hard life, but if your born into it, it might not be so hard. It's hard everywhere, this stirs my imagination about the cowboy life, i love it. Dwight.

The emotions, the tears, of wasted years, wash over me like a cold wind out of the north. I tremble and shake, with each breath i take, and there's no one around me that cares. Dwight.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this photo. We have nothing like this where I live close to the ocean. Only horses for pleasure riding are the norm here. I sure hope he had a good rest before it was time to return to work. Thanks so much for posting this.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unawares

I really like this shot. The composition is great. The overall shot seems very peaceful
