I am reluctant to say this, but I have been to the Grand Canyon so many times in my life and have been on both rims and even took the donkey ride to the bottom and stayed there overnight, which I'm sure in this new world of insurance doesn't happen anymore, but to my point..you've done a great job of artistic interpretation.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
This struck me as the kind of thing I've seen on walls in art galleries and office buildings. Not really abstract nor realism but bits of both. Kinda interesting really. I'm more a primary colour fan myself but your palette in this is consistent and conveys a single aesthetic. Nice playing. :)
