This fountain was so precisely carved, cut and leveled that the water cascaded over the edges evenly all the way around. Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City. And I should also mention that this was a substantial sized chunk of stone, around three foot across the top if not more, very impressive when up next to it.

First, you photographed this beautifully, right down to the glistening water running down the sides.

Second, I love Nelson-Atkins! It is one of my all-time favorite museums. (High-5s, Larry!)

Beautiful fountain! You did really well in capturing this. Google says that this is a Noguchi Fountain. (really interesting!)

Thanks Constance! I took this shot in 2011, so my memory was murky as to details, not surprising as my old memory has a pretty short attention span in these golden years, LOL! They keep the lights low in the museum, some rooms almost dark, to protect the artwork, so a lot of the pics I took that day came out too dark. I have been honing my editing skills since then, and decided to go back and see how many of the photos from that day I can make presentable with editing, and have managed to bring some of them out of the darkness. It was a fun day, and now I am able to go back and appreciate the things I saw there that day, brings a smile to my face!

Very interesting post (your image, narrative, additional comment, and Connie's comment), Lary.
Thanks for that. Thanks to Connie too.
A very well captured masterpiece of art. Thought initially that it was covered with a glass plate, until I had read the above mentioned comments.
Very well done, my friend!
