UF4. This is one of my homework images. I used the Averaging technique (each ascending layers opacity is lowered by a set average so each layer contributes equally to the overall image) and then I added a orbit traps layer. This has a total of 13 layers.

Beautiful job Kim. The highlight on the "wood" outer areas seems a bit harsh. But overall, it's still an exceptional job on your part, with the rich sense of depth. My hats off to you. :o)

The outer parts have a wonderful, almost tortoise-shell like quality, although I tend to agree with CurtieBear about the highlights. Lovely design and the overall effect is very good. Wish I had even the foggiest idea how you produced this!

I didn't understand half of whatever it was you said in the "comments" section, but I love the result of whatever it is you did. I especially liked the pattens in the brownish-greenish-yellowish area up all the way above and below the main fractal, outside the white paths. I think I'd like to see more of that, or something along the same tracks. Please? Please-please? cool work.

I forgot to say that those areas (without white) look like polished wood, and the white lines are almost like reflections... beautiful.
