Brett, this a wonderful capture ~ the vibrant orange color is eyecatching as I am sure it was while diving. I think this is a zoanthid (sometimes referred as a zoanthid anenome). The water visibility must have good 'cause the clarity is fantastic. Thank you for taking me on this dive experience ~ looking forward to more. Faves!

Its called a Sea Anemone. Its a predator for small sea life. If you put your finger in the middle of it, the tenticles will contract and suck onto your finger, and when you pull your finger away it closes up into a liitle ball, so if it were its prey, like a small shrimp or whatever it feeds on, as soon as the prey touches its tenticles it will grab it, and "swallow" it in, as you can see there are some that have already contracted into little balls.
