Sergagil : Most potters are small boats 9 to 12 meters sailing at an average speed of 8 knots. Some reach 12 to 24 meters, but they are rare. The pot vessels do not need to have a high tensile strength. They are characterized by a large deck area to accommodate the lockers. The crew is composed of 2 to 4 men who leave for the day on the fishing grounds in the 12-mile zone and the depth varies between 40 and 80 meters. The potters are in common use in Britany. The main species reported are the crab, spider, lobster, velvet crab, shrimp, whelk, cuttlefish ....

Christian, I see that the French are very inventive when it comes to fishing.
You've showed us, by means of your wonderful images, a lot of different fishing methods and have us provided with an expert explanation. Thanks for that my friend!

Regards, Cornelius.

Great composition Christian. The best shellfish we've ever eaten has been in Brittany so it's good to see this boat.
