For the record, this boat cemetery was born with the war of 1939 -. 1945 The skippers of tuna Croix Island, from fight to liberate France, did not want to let the Germans. They therefore hidden at the bottom of the mouth of the Blavet. At the end of the war, many of these skippers were unfortunately killed in action, the boats stayed there to finish die quietly. Then, new materials, new fishing techniques, new species have to capture these boats were technologically obsolete before the war, they were left in the mud of the Blavet. Gradually, it was common practice to abandon his ship in this place.

Interesting and good posting Christian.
Hope that nowadays they have in France more strictly rules with respect to avoid pollution in order to protect the environment.
