The colors look good. The halo effect around the silhouettes is caused by over-sharpening. Additionally there is some noise in this shot possibly caused by sharpening as well. You picked a very tough subject here. Shooting into the sun is very difficult. Do you use any photo software for eliminating noise or are you a "purist"? I have a few suggestions if you're interested.
