This is a tree at the end of my street. Although there was a lot of construction vehichles about, i managed to get the right angle and not contain any distractions in it. Taken in glasgow, scotland...........
Pretty tough isn't it? Getting rid of all the urban clutter can be quite a strech. Fog helps I find, and I use it a lot in my photos to isolate the subject away from all the ordinary background distractions. I think your inclusion of the right-hand branches helps your image by providing a balance to the main subject. Also the exposure you chose makes the tree really stand out against the fog. Now the composition you used here makes me feel that something is missing. I can't put my finger on what it is that I'm looking around for, but I think the silhouette against the fog just isn't enough. Maybe I want to see the whole tree, or I want a living (animal) thing, but I just feel something is missing. Other than that I like the image.
Nice not to have any background clutter ! I like your image myself, I like the simplicity in it & the contrasts, the soft fog, the hard tree. That blue fog makes everything seem very mysterious & moody. Nicely done !

"Pity? It was pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many."- "I wish the Ring had never come to me.
I wish none of this had happened..." "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."-Gandalf
