A male Downey Woodpecker flew into my patio door and stunned himself. I held it for a few minutes until it recovered enough to sit on the shrub beside the door. I was able to get a good closeup of him before he flew up into the tree. Not the best composition, but I was operating quickly to get him before he recovered his wits. LOL

Oh, dear Loris, this bird looks so ... well ... stunned LOL
Cute little bird too and I DO LOVE the image hurried or not LOL
The best proof of the quality and appreciation is the opinion of our two leading bird catchers so to say [above] !!! LOL
BTW so it is a normal experience to run/fly/stumble into/onto things and get stunned !
I thought that I was getting in need of medical assistance as normally such running and colliding happens to me - and with bad results !!! LOL

Glad you were there Loris to help our feathered friend here recover. He's so handsome and his coloring is simply gorgeous. Perhaps he let you take this great photo in return for your help? Wonderful post Loris - I've enjoyed it very much.

What a beautiful little bird! I am glad he wasn't hurt and that you helped him. I see nothing wrong with the composition - this is a very lovely capture and image. :)
