A Northern Flying Squirrel as it is getting ready to get into the impromptu feeder we have tied to a tree. They don't actually fly, but glide from tree to tree on a membrane of skin that stretches between their front and back legs. You can just see the edge of this skin in the white lines along each side. They are just a bit bigger than a chipmunk, and only come out after full dark. We would sit and wait to hear the soft "splat" as they landed on the feeder tree. They would hang around, coming and going, until the feeder was empty, and it was fun lying in our tent, falling asleep while listening to them scuffle around the feeder.
