I love these critters and they've come back to visit in swarms this year. So you'll more than likely be seeing more of them in the future. Hope you'll enjoy. -Christie
That's a really nice shot, Christie. You certainly lucked out with the perch and background. There's more detail available if it's just a bit darker, with a touch of Contrast and negative Gamma (reduced exposure)
This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By. Thanks For Sharing ! Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience
Wow this is stunning and very artistic looking to it almost like a water colour painting and the detail and composition is second to none.the colours are beautiful and it great how it looks like it is on a stand .
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
They're strange and fascinating creatures, there's no doubt about that. And their juvenile, aquatic stage is every bit as voracious as the flying one. Good dragonfly shots, to me, are the Holy Grail of close-up photography and opportunities have been rare so far. So congratulations on this beauty and getting it to pose so uniquely for you.
Great detail and clarity. Perfect composition with the wings open...It is always amazing how transparent the wings are - you captured them (and the whole dragonfly) just perfect. I hope this photo shall be promoted to the main gallery.
