The school I am currently going to held it's banquet in honor of the seniors at a Bible camp in South Dakota. On the mounain just opposite of the camp's dining facilities, this cross was erected. After the banquet, when the sun had just set, I saw this looking back at me. The two things I did to the picture, was to add the border, and use a mosaic tool on it. I may do another version with a Bible Verse Incorporated into the picture.

The Old Rugged Cross, so despised by the World, has a wondrous attraction for me.

The cross is not a symbol of life persay. It is a symbol of what was defeated that day, and three days later. This piece of wood may have triumphed temporarily over the Son of God,and God in the flesh, but the triumph was short lived.

Because he arose. He broke the bonds of sin and death.

Oh death where is thy sting, or grave where is thy victory?

DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY.

Superb color offerings!! I think the post work inside kinda distracts from the amazing overall feel that maybe could be there. Luv the frame works!!

A NOTE TO ALL MY FRIENDS: I WILL BE COMMENTING LESS ON PEOPLE IN MY “FRIENDS” LIST SO AS TO MAKE TIME FOR VIEWING ALL “NEW IMAGES” AND ENCOURAGING OTHER PEOPLE OF WHOM I MAY NOT KNOW OR ARE NEW TO THE SITE. I WILL STILL VIEW EVERY IMAGE OF MY FRIENDS AND STILL COMMENT ON SOME IF I CAN GIVE A GOOD CRITIQUE OR MENTION WHAT I LIKE OR FEEL IS REALLY WORKIN’ WELL IN THE IMAGE. AS FAR AS MY IMAGES IF YOU HAVE A COMMENT ON HOW I CAN IMPROVE AN IMAGE I REALLY WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THAT SO AS TO LEARN AND BETTER MYSELF.

I'd love to see this without the mosaic tool. Otherwise, it speaks volumes.

I love your thoughts in this shot. It is a great reminder to us all. The idea of the inscription of a verse would be great. Maybe not as much bordering but i do like the color of it. The mosaic is intersesting but it looks to much like just a pattern. Hope my comment is helpful. I would love to see a rework because this picture has so much potential. Keep up the good work.

Never get discouraged.

Why do you have to "put your two cents in"... but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

I agree - would like to see this with and without mosaic pattern - otherwise this is very interesting as the colors and contrasts in the photo really help portray the mood of this shot.Good eye - and good thoughts! Amen!
