A cold front rolls into northern Tennessee.

Tech Specs:
Camera: Canon PowerShot S5 IS
Shooting Date/Time: 4/12/2008 6:38:37 PM
Shooting Mode: Manual
Tv (Shutter Speed: 1/100
Av (Aperture Value: 4.0
Light Metering: Evaluative
ISO Speed: 100
Focal Length: 6.0 mm
All the above is the info on the wrong way to shoot this scene...:). I was so intent on the crazy sky that I forgot to pay attention to how the ground was being exposed, which resulted in a great looking sky, but a severely underexposed landscape.
So, into Photoshop I went! :) Selected the sky to copy and paste it into a new layer so I could then adjust the land to make it more properly exposed. Also decided to add a slight Orton effect to the land portion to add to what I felt was a somewhat "otherworldly" scene.
So, here's the end result. Love it? Hate it? :)

Its a fine image with nice composition. The clouds and the opening of the blue sky are its strength. The edits are evident however and throws this a little out of balance for me.I wouldn`t be commenting on this if I didn`t like it.

Of course I love the sky, and your edit work on the land is good, but could be better. Keep working at it. PS and great photography work hand in hand...gotta love it!

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

Absolutely beautiful. The sky is perfection! Thanks for sharing. :)
