My apologies, but I have no clue what type of plant this is. I think it's a fern, if anyone knows comment! Taken in my backyard.

Definetly a fern...you can always tell by the way they sort of unroll at the top of the stem.

Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill

oh i love this. and yes you are right...it is a fern. (a northern wood fern im pretty sure) i just love ferns and you did such a great job with this. i love the focus on just one opening stalk. it could perhaps be a bit sharper to make it stand out a little more? beautiful work! ~abby

The focus on the unwinding leaves is great, I really like the detail there. Very nice photo. Nice job.

Beauty is no quality in things themselves. It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them, and each mind perceives a different beauty.

I don't think you need to sharpen it, I think that's just fine. I myself would have focused a little more on the the one stalk and not so much of the blurry ferns behind, so you might want to crop it, but that's just me. It also depends on if you took it in JPEG or RAW or TIFF or whatever. Great job though.
