Oh, what the heck. I'm just going to say the first thing that came into my head. I think it reads, "This way to the Colonial Diner - Specialty of the House - Liver and Onions".
Sorry...I had to burp that one out.
It must have been awesome, actually, to see and photograph this in person. Do you know what it does say?
"Once there were brook trout...standing in the amber current...polished and torsional..on their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again." Cormac MCarthy
"To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
~ Henri Cartier-Bresson
At first I was prepared to jump at you for not knowing that Corinth = Greece. On second thoughts though I admit the inscription is in Latin ...
Very beautiful and meaningful image.
Yes, this language seems like latim, portuguese is a language derived from the Latin so some words for us are easy to understand but in this case I don't have any clue about what is written in the rock.
