This mountain side is covered with Iron Oxide (rust). This can happen because of placer mining, landslides and snowslides or just plain erosion. This causes the iron oxide to come to the surface and turn red with exposure to the elements. Makes for a nice picture though. Enjoy.

How right you are Chuck, it does make for a nice picture. The rust colors on the mountainside add nice contrast. GREAT focus on this one. That mountaintop full screen looks like a knifes edge against that sky. Well done.
