This is a very nice stand of Aspen trees in the San Juans. The shadows make for some interesting designs and textures.

Great post - wonderful Fall colors and yes, the effects of the shadows add to the photo. Thanks for sharing.

They certainly do - it's such an interesting photo, with the light streaming in and the casted shadows resulting. Very nice, Chuck; thanks!

The warn sunny atmosphere is very appealing. I like the white trunks puncuated with the spashes of dark. The open area that can be viewed thru the tree stand is also appealing. This was a lighting and exposure nightmare and only a few bright areas got burned out with no detail left.. Overall, a very pretty capture.

Beautiful job on this image you really did wonderfully in catching the shadows cast and the light from the sun hitting the trees just right to give a very nice effect. Excellent

Couldn't agree more with your assessment of the shadows. Can't say as I've ever seen Aspens up close. The light colored bark reminds me of white Birch trees where I am. Nice clear capture of light and shadow.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.
