Taken in March, 2008 on my 2nd trip to San Jose del Cabo. These waves occur all day/night long. They made my wife close the patio door at night so she could sleep. The loud claps annoyed her... but enthralled me... as did the visual eruptions. I even have a movie to refresh my memory of the full beauty of the Sea of Cortez waves!

There are two things about the photo that are different... normally my shots of waves have virtually nothing but water and horizon... this time I actually made an effort to get some land in the picture to show the height of the wave. The second difference is that I almost missed the wave but this adds a different beauty to the image... you can see that it was a lot higher by the trail of water droplets left in the sky which of course shows you roughly how high these waves can be! One erupts about every 23 seconds... according to my video! Jerome... Merci pour tes beaux mots. Yes, PJ! That, for me, must be the attraction... the ENERGY! Dennis... Do it. It is great for both the soul and the mind! And Rafa... nothing but the best for you from Vancouver! :o)

I love how you captured sound in a photo. I don't care how noisy they were, my patio door would be wide open! There's nothing like hearing the ocean.

I love seeing waves hit like this, but I have to say I haven't seen any look like this here at the Paciric... When I go to the Ocean...I turn up the heat, and I open the windows, so I can be warm and hear the sounds of the sea crashing or lapping against the shore..That's the fun of it all...thanx for a most fantastic shot my friend.
