This is a very well known mountain in Ireland. It is located in the County of Mayo. Look for the highest peak on the left side of the picture. It was made famous by none other than St. Patrick. It was atop of this mountain that he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. It is said that at the end of the 40-day fast, he threw a silver bell down the side of the mountain, knocking the she-demon Corra from the sky and banishing all the snakes from Ireland. On top of the mountain there is a church, built in 1905. You can just make it out if you look closely. There has actually been 5 weddings and 1 funeral conducted in this chapel! The mountain, named Croagh Patrick, is 2510 feet high. If you look closely you can see the well worn path (whitish colour) that pilgrims climb. Believe it or not some people climb this mountain barefoot!

Always enjoy looking at wide view picture from the top of a mountain, hill etc: Yes I do see the white path leading up the hill and can believe some die hard pilgrims walk up barefoot...guess they got to feel the pain to be worthy. I did see South Pacific firewalkers walk across a bed of red hot burning coals...it's mind over matter.
Stunning Shot Paul!
