Someone takes very nice care of this totem. The paint and the features are clearly seen and it's a lovely representation of what I don't know :) However, the totem in the background is trying mightily to compete with the subject and I'm not sure why the owners felt they had to place it in that exact spot, but perhaps there is some significance that is lost to me about its positioning.

"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon

An interesting shot. The colors are wonderful as is the patterning. I will have to say however, I am wondering what the whole totem actually looks like - it just seems somewhat incomplete

You did get wonderful clarity in this shot. I notice that the bird has two tongues which may mean something to do with the ability to speak to the tribe and to the great beyond. I have no way of knowing but it is interesting to try and understand an art piece from the past. The colors are good. Welcome to Caedes. I will look forward to seeing more of your work as time goes on.
