A rose from my father's rose garden in Palm Springs, CA. I was just taking snapshots of the ladybug in the flower and got lucky when it spread it wings, for a little pre-flight stretch.
I like the lighting on this one. It's unusual in that it doesn't look like it's coming from the camera's flash, but it still isolates the flower from whatever the background happened to be. Shifting the view up may have improved the shot by including more of the blossom, but it's still a great photo.

The ladybug is a really neat ornament but the color and the dark shade here are what made this photo stand out in the thumbnails. You do good work with color and darkness.
