What are talking about, dear friend?! What I most clearly see here is a huuuuuge striped doughnut with a ball instead of the hole ! Not that I am in favour of the hole. I think you Americans are basically wronged by this hole concept in respect of donut. In Poland we have donuts filled with marmalade, fruit, eggnog and any other stuffing human can invent - with the stuffing in place of the hole! All the same this is a good looking donut. SAM & SAAB
You are both wrong! What we are seeing with our telescopes are the radiation belts surrounding a white dwarf star. In your wonderfully captured picture, the white dwarf is dirty and appears "blue-like." That will change as the star heats up, even more.
