Different and very interesting. I rather like it though I think I might find it a little overwhelming as a desktop. I like your interpretation, too - it does suggest wind-blown grasses but the texture, well, there's more than a hint of feather there. I think it might be interesting to see this in slightly more subdued colours. At least, if it is intended as a desktop as I think it is the sheer amount of that otherwise attractive green which would be too much after a while. (Hard to see it as a desktop _background_.) But others may see things differently or have different tastes. (The former I mean quite literally - who knows with different monitors?)
Excellent first Apop. image, though. Look forward to seeing more - I somehow don't think that with a start like this you will fail to surprise...
I am honoured to be listed as a friend or to see an image of mine as a favourite, but I keep lists of neither. This helps me appreciate images uploaded by strangers as well as friends. Please understand that a failure to reciprocate in kind indicates a lack of appreciation for neither gesture nor work.
Yes it is Grass Feathers. And you did a very good job for a 1st! I have some that aren't as good as this one..lol..And everyone has different tastes so don't be discouraged. And as cfr said, every monitor shows a fractal different as well. But this is great!! Really! I'm not just saying it. The more you do the more you'll find out just what Apop can do. I just started in July so I'm still a beginner and still learning. There's so much to tweak at soooo many places on Apop! Do some exploring. You won't break it...lol...And you can always undo if you don't like something. Good luck and well done again! :)
I really like the subtle variations in light and shadow. Also, the little patches of colour are great. I see the grass and the feathers but to me your picture looks like an image from an electron-microscope.
