I believe this to be an Isabella Butterfly. The picture was taken at the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls, Ontario. I though this would make a pleasing desktop.
not sure if it's an Isabella Butterfly, but it's certainly beautiful...perhaps I love it more because my name is isabella? ;) Either way, its my desktop now!
hello there again :)
i think this is my favourite of the series.. i love the simplicity of it.. just a small beautiful butterfly and a monochromatic background.. the wings of this little fellow make a great contrast with the background.. like a drop of colour in an old b/w movie :) and its colours are so warm, even though there's a bit of black.. i love it :) great lighting and composition as well!
i love the contrast a lot.. thank you for sharing this image with us :)
have a nice day! :)
Having a little fun. As I had just found your galleries, I was about to comment on one of the other Niagara White Water works ... when this one jumped off the page.
I prefer this butterfly image more so than the others that you do have framed. The 'natural' framing by way of some magnificent composition and the occurring shadows, do not detract or more importantly, distract from the image in any way. Rather, these elements serve to enhance the photo.
Again, echoing the previous sentiments ... the simplicity, lighting, colours and I will add, textures, make this a very beautiful image.
