For your theme of "Nostalgia", this image would look better if you edited it and gave it either a sepia or black&white coloring to it. Maybe even go further and add in some old photo scratches to the image after discoloring it...just an idea...
Agree with above observation, however I do realize that art is a personal thing, this photo may indeed evoke some strong emotions from you, but in a general sense I do not see a personal connect to it. The photo by itself is good, the vividness and vanishing lines are visually attractive. I'm still trying to find a story element to it.
I have noticed this image the other day already and if I made no comment at that time it is only because that I was not certain about my impressions. Now I know for certain that the composition here is very good. The colours, lighting and perspective simply fascinating. I also think I know why 'nostalgia' but will not say ! LOL
Thanks, Sasha, and nostalgic congratulations !!!
Man does this image bring back memories. I really like the control you have on your use of depth-of-field Sasha. Did you hand hold the shot or use a tri-pod? Either way you did a magnificent job.
I really like all the technical achievements with this image, but being from the UK it doesn't make any personal connection with me at all. Personally, I'd crop it a little bit tighter around the stop sign, but it's a very nice image. Thanks for posting.
That's the thing about nostalgia, everyones' version is different. For me (showing my age...) this should be the faded colour that 1960s prints mostly have these days. However, if this is yours, it's well done. Nice and sharp image. Cheers! - Dave
Love the colour in particular - it's certainly why i clicked on it. The perspective is good, and without colour - this image just wouldn't be the same! Great stuff.
