While driving through the high Austrian Alps near the Post Alm, my wife and I encountered a herd of horses blocking the road. We took the opportunity to snap a bunch of pictures. These very young colts were adorable. A bit later there were children petting them as cars started to pile up.

Ha, I now think you should have used this one in the contest. It would've thrown them all right off the scent, who cares if it wasn't fair! They are very interesting looking animals, the way the faces have very short/no hair on them... or is that just due to their age. I find the green in the background a bit strange, it seems a little unnatural to me... a bit bright? But maybe I'm just not used to seeing this type of environment.

About the green grass with a bit of yellow in it...Sam, it really looked that way. I was going to desaturate it a bit -- tried it and it didn't look right, so I left it alone. I think it may be because of the high altitude or something.
