Hey, those ARE butterflies! I wonder why butterflys and trees are so frequently encountered in fractals... Anyway, I generally like this fractal; but I'm not sure if pastels were the right choice: the background is very black, and the fractal itself has many empty spaces in it. I personally like it more either in white or with very saturated colors, preferably with some glow around the dense parts. But the design itself is very interesting: much to see.
I like this a lot, though it is a shame it doesn't have just a little more depth. I think the pastels are very suitable in this case. If you did introduce brighter colours, I think it might be best to just use them to highlight parts rather than to change the overall subtlety of the design. It would be easy to overwhelm the fragility of this pattern. White might work but I'm not sure how interesting the result would be. (Conclusion: good choice of colours!)
The only thing I'm not keen on has little to do with the image. The title suggests something much wilder and more chaotic than this which seems to be an especially well-behaved fractal rather than the contrary.
