Interesting textures here - it reminds me of toys you sometimes get for young children with all different textures of fabric and various decorations which feel interesting to the touch - this is the visual equivalent. The colours are great too. I might personally prefer to see the image moved down slightly so we see more of the top and less empty black, but that's a matter of taste, I think.
I see a day bird by night - head curled under its wing, fast asleep and dreaming of wind speeds, navigational coordinates and fantastic thermals. At dawn the heap of feathers will explode, stretching colourfully in the sunlight...
