These are a gorgeous set of mountains...we got a great view from the slope of their neighbor, Mount Huron. I did my best to capture them...but if you have any suggestions about landscape shots, that would be awesome! Comments and votes, as always, are appreciated.

The grasses in the left foreground and the trees in the middle add nice perspective and I think that's always important in this kind of a landscape shot. Good composition, too, and nice contrasts in color.

Great shot of the mountains in the background, the forest brings out color. The only thing I would change would be to show less of the rocky landscape in the lower left, it takes focus off the mountains with as much that is showing.

It depends on what you like to show.
If you want to show the moutains...you did.
But if you want to show more depth in the landscape you should have something in the foreground...Like a big rock.
But what I guess is most important in landscape photography is that the details should lead the eye thru the picture.
Meaning sometimes there is nothing to focus on....
In this shot there are 3 mayor lines that makes the compostion good....but the focus should be more on either foreground or background.

An idyllic scene where I can imagine myself standing from that viewpoint. Exquisite sky/mountain/forest contrast. Nothing to improve here!

Photos, pictures and diagrams are more descriptive than words, just look at Grant's Atlas of Anatomy!

It looks like you were in a very rugged rock slide area, when you took this shot. I have had a couple of excursions out west and your picture really makes me want to make another trip. Great picture.
