I think I've found the perfect flower! I took this on the way up Notch Mountain in Colorado. I edited out the background and cloned away two little spots. Other than that, this is what it looked like. =) Comments appreciated! -Laurel

When I first viewed the big image I was unsure, the editing is first rate but there's noticeable graininess in the leaves (enlargement or just jpeg artifacts?). After a while though it actually grew on me and I think I prefer it with the grain in it, I think it works well with the stark background. If it had been a 10MP pin sharp picture I think it would have looked too stark against the black, but as it is I like it - kind of peering at us out of the gloom!

i think your flower is gorgeous. the black background sets it off and the grain in the petals gives wonderful texture. jen

Isn't she lovely?....Isn't she wonderfullll! (Stevie Wonder tune). My first reaction to your columbine. She is lovely and your black background brings her to the fore. She cannot be ignored. Great job, Laurel!
