The light in the background is actually a street light, not the sunset, totally took me by surprise when it was developed. I just love this picture.

A c-index of 64 and no comments...what gives? This is a pretty cool shot. I like the light through the fog and the silhouette of the tree - an effect enhanced by the black and white. It could be a little less grainy, but then again, that's not the easiest thing to avoid.
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill
Stunning B&W! The definition that the tree has against the sky is fantastic. This photo almost has an eerie feel to it, with the fog in the background. I kind of like the grain on this one, it adds an older, vintage if you will, look to the scene.
"To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
~ Henri Cartier-Bresson
Excellent picture. I especially like the Black and White effect. It makes it very dramatic. Also good job setting up the shot so that the sun shows through the tree. Thanks for sharing
