Dated 1300. This Abbey is linked to medieval legend, where it is said that in 1314, when it was placed at stake the last Templar Grand Master, Jacques de Molay the lintels of church were broken. Even today, observing the lintel of the main portal of the abbey, you can see a crack. Confirmation of presence of Templars are the crosses are made of some features: the first large step in the church floor, ceiling of the cloister and the most famous of all sculpted in the left eye central rose window, came to light in the restoration of the century. Strange indeed.

Another gorgeous shot, Ed. This make me think of one specific church we visited, but I can't recall the name of it.

This one grows on you...the more I looked at it, the more details I found... such as the pattern of stones in the front walk that is oddly interrupted, the fitting of the stones in the fountain, the uneven holes in the center stone facing the camera, the double arches to the left and no arch at all in what would seem to be a corresponding motif, followed by a single arch on the right, the cornices of the pillars are each slightly different, etc. I suspect much of this architecture has a hidden meaning. And yes, I see a crack in a foundation stone. Somber place, and even more so when one knows the history.
