This is a photograph of the highest level of Collegium Novum (built in 1887) of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Collegium Novum is the headquarters of the Jagiellonian University's authorities - its Rector, its Deans and so on... The Jagiellonian University is the oldest university in Poland and one of the oldest universities in Europe - it started teaching 12 may 1364! Till this day UJ is one of the best universities in Poland and students consider learning there a great honour. And, yes, I'm a student of UJ :)

I can't imagine what it must feel like to be a part of such a grand institution with such a long and rich history. Thanks for the information and the photo as well :)

Classic and balanced composition. The reflectinon of the blue sky in the windows and the shadows of the trees on the building, make this have depth. I like the clarity of the decorative medallions and friezes. Very nice.
