Continuing on my wanton trail of destruction of public property. Today I was a little more gentle, I only uprooted one utility pole and cut another in half, but I at least let the trees survive and planted a few rose bushes. On the other hand I totaled some fella's truck, his own fault really for leaving it parked out in the open like that. Then there's the matter of cutting the power to the lighthouse. This lighthouse was erected back in 1876, with a few bits added later on. It stand 49 feet high and the light can be seen for 12 nautical miles out to sea, no telling how far inland :) The lighthouse stands at the Wood Islands ferry terminal on Prince Edward Island. I took this photo as the ferry was docking. The sign claims it to be the southern most tip of the island, so who am I to argue. Hope you enjoy and your comments welcomed.

It look like a mixture of a school house, church and light house Wendell. I guess that would make it a Slurch. Sounds refreshing. You probably could use one with all the cleanup work you did.
I really like the view. You must have worked for the government at one time with your great coverup work.

Wendell - How fortunate that PEI has you, the ecology restorationist, to clean out the clutter of twenty-first century life, this after sprucing up the greater Truro region! lol You use open space (the lawn, sea and sky) very well in this shot. Well done! Thad

Hi, Wendell...

You said, "I only uprooted one utility pole and cut another in half, but I at least let the trees survive and planted a few rose bushes. On the other hand I totaled some fella's truck, his own fault really for leaving it parked out in the open like that. Then there's the matter of cutting the power to the lighthouse."

So my natural response is how do we know, after all of that black magic, that you even took a photo of a light house? For all I know, this is nothing more than an old Buick that you've modified.

What a wonderful old structure. Excellent post photo work to be able to eradicate 134 years of mankind's work. The best photo of a Buick I've seen in years.

I love lighthouses, and this is a very unique looking one. Great shot, and I hope you didn't get too bad of a shock messing with power lines. LOL.

Wendell is obviously the Nova Scotian variety of "vandal".
No wonder the light isn't working. Rose bushes may be prettier but they don't carry electricity very well. ;~}
Great composition though.

Is it wrong that I really like the color of the grass in this shot. I know you didn't take this thinking, wow look at that grass! But it's a really cool color against the water the house. Very nice :)
