In my continuing boycott of the dreary, dismal weather of this late fall season I present this photo instead. Originally shot back in July of this year. As you can see nothing dismal or dreary to be seen here.

This is the gazebo located in the Halifax Public Gardens and a bit of its surrounding flower gardens and greenery. I'm told the gazebo also doubles as a bandstand, so maybe later if you are all well behaved I'll shatter some eardrums and croak out a few tunes. Anybody play the electric spoons by chance? There are benches galore in the back should you be inclined to want a seat. So no need to crowd onto the one in the foreground. Besides, for some silly reason it's facing the wrong way. There's really not much of a view looking this way, unless you like looking at trees and random strangers snapping pictures. A rather rude statue is turning its back to us. I think the pigeons were off mugging some small chap in a more secluded area of the gardens.

Now that brings us to the title of the photo. I tried to straighten the darn thing. But if I made the gazebo level and all pleasing to the eye it really threw everything else off kilter. The statue threatened to topple off its pedestal, maybe that's why it's being rude. The path became an uphill battle and people were falling off their benches. So I only twisted it a little bit towards levelity.

Hope you enjoy and your comments welcomed.

I don't play the electric spoons but I can do magic with some tongs. Big bandstand, big tongs. Little bandstand, little tongs. Gazebo I break out the forks.
It is really a clear shot shot Wendell. Lots to looks at. I'm with you on the cold, gray, drab days of fading fall and waiting winter.

Wendell, This is a lovely park. Looks like it was a beautiful day just a few months ago when this park was green and full of flowers. The weather here has been gray, drab and cold; so this is a welcome posting. Love the red flowers that match the roof. Excellent and funny narrative. Would like to see a shot of that statue in the background. Is this the same garden that had the cacti you posted?

"Levelity"? If nothing else, I've learnt a new word Wendell.
This cheerful summery scene is certainly an antidote for our bitterly cold early winter weather.

This is a great shot of this wonderful spot in the gardens. It certainly recalls the feelings of summer, and thanks for that! Beautiful colors, and a nicely composed image. Well done! Terrific narrative, as well.

Aah yes summer is becoming a faint memory but this serves to revive oneself. Very colorful and blessedly warm looking shot - thanks!

Hello Wendell! :-)

Wonderful bandstand photo! The composition is marvellous, I would love to take a walk in this park, spend a day, is there a place to pic-nic? If yes, you will present your show after or before the lunch? And I go as frog or princess? lol Your presentation of this so beautiful place is really nice, love it!

Wendel, I too do not play the Electrical Spoons, however, while in Japan I had "learnt" how to play the Koto with Chop Sticks while maintaining the "levelity" of the instrument in time with the music. LOL.. Very nice photo and I love your narratives. I do believe the gazebo is rather tilted, possible from so many heavy persons attempting to mount the steps, or the "Rude Statue" is a tilt.

Wendell - You know too well that Nova Scotia folk are so nice and accommodating that even the anti-social are cared for with a turned-backward bench! You have captured the beauty of this garden so well in this photo. Thad

Oh what a beautiful scene and makes me wish for the green green grass of summer. Gorgeous colours and love that gazebo.
