Pretty much the same story as the previous shot Hairy Moment. This photo was taken approximately 4 minutes and 15 shots later then the other photo. You may well be thinking that in 4 minutes I could have taken a lot more photos then 15. But we played a couple of games of "chase one another around the tree" and "wait until I stop moving before you snap the shutter"; I lost on a technicality. This time shot and presented in a vertical presentation. I did not feel like cropping it, but I did play around with the light levels to bring out some of the colour. Outside of that it's pretty much as it was photographed.

Hope you enjoy this version and your comments welcomed.

The don't set still very long for all the pecking they do Wendell. I like the vertical format.

By the looks of this image it look like you won the contest! He has sure made some quick work of that poor old tree. A wonderful and clear shot of old Hairy!

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.

Nice photo of your cute and fun hairy fellow, Wendell. Good action shot of an artist working on his sculpture. :-)

I think the balance of this shot is way off. I believe that it needs a good deal of blurred background on the left. LOL

I think it's a good job you got him before he'd pecked the whole tree down Wendell. Excellent work again.

Wendell - When standing still to photograph hummingbirds, be careful that this one doesn't land on your noggin and start its work! Thad

I have never seen a real woodpecker :)
You captured this one well Wendell and it suits the vertical presentation.
LOL at Thad's comment - made me laugh :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
