The title pretty much speaks for the quality of this photo.

Earlier today, about mid-afternoon to be exact, this fellow shows up out in the yard. This fellow despite appearances being a coyote not a fox. I rush outside with the camera, and by rush I mean slip out the door quietly as I didn't want to disturb him and all. Apparently I didn't move as quietly as I thought, just when I was finally able to get a clear shot of the coyote, it spooked and ran off into the bush. So I snapped a few quick shots as it left. Unfortunately they were either unfocused or blurred or both. So I figured I'd make the best of a bad situation and with a little editing I end up with something approaching this photo.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

It sure has the coloring of a fox Wendell. You were not quite wily enough to get a shot of the coyote. I like the Acme Editing program you used. It has salvaged the shot very well. Well, gotta run.

Great title and narrative, Wendell. Actually I have a number of shots that look very similar to this one except without the snow. That is snow, right? And you're sure that you didn't photograph the neighbor's dog?

Congratulations on a job well done. I cannot believe your prowess with a camera. I thought I had you beat with my "Foggy Sunrise" shot of the power pole when my C-Index was at 9. A couple of bumbleheads came along and gave it high marks running the C-Index into the low 20's. You might have me beat with this one. I don't believe there is a moon tonight. I think I'll head out at about midnight and take some macros with the flash off. That should get me in the running again. You are the ultimate competitor.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

You're sure this isn't a ghost coyote? It reminds me of a ghosthunter shot - everything grainy except the "ghost" they want you to see. Well done story.

Its not the Patterson film by any means but I really like the color of this guys fur and the action that the image conveys. This really does look like a fox but I have seen some coyotes that had very reddish colored fur. Great shot

Wendell - Last summer, we had a coyote in the neighborhood, but only saw it at night. It was a shaggy gray thing. Panning a moving animal is a challenge when prepared for it. Trying to do so 'on the run' is truly a difficult task. Your effort grade is certainly high. Thad

Now this is a really cool posting Wendell, I can see it was a coyote. We've had them coming through our yard a lot, but late at night.
