Another clearing of the bin photo. Warning: some wildflowers were harmed in the making of this photo.

This is a shot of the two colour variations of the hawkweed plant. The orange variety is sometimes called the devil's paintbrush. I found these growing in an overgrown field a short distance from each other. Being too far apart to photograph together, I yanked one from the ground and tied it to the stalk of the other. Then I waited for the wind to calm down and proceeded to shoot from point-blank range. Many wild shots later I crawled away contented and with grass-stained knees.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

What a determined photographer you are Wendell. I am guessing you won't be harassed by the Flower Huggers until spring. The colors work well together but then you knew that, otherwise you wouldn't have tied them together.

Very nice capture of colour you fraudsters and very good set up as will.Love the colours, and the background is just the right colour and blur for this shot.

Wendell - The vibrant colors are refreshing. If the flower huggers haven't knocked on your door yet, it should be safe to venture out again. Thad

Fantastic capture and love those colours Wendell. It's really cold out here in Grande Prairie Alberta.

I've forwarded your narrative, Wendell, to the Canadian Botanical Academy for disciplinary action. Actually I'm only kidding. I sometimes do the same thing when I'm taking shots of misty oaks and foggy valleys. Moving an oak isn't nearly as rough as moving a valley.

I like the dark blurry background, but it looks to me like the depth of field needs some fine tuning. Some of the flowers are sharply focused while others are a little out of focus.

Great colors.
