Another photo of the Halifax Public Gardens. This is the statue of Flora, goddess of budding springtime. But for our purposes we will be calling her Lefty. As you may notice, if only because it seems obvious, some one down in Halifax has something against left-handed people and statuary. Further evidence of this can be seen here. So if you are left-handed or know someone left-handed this might not be the park for you. That might explain the mob that followed me around the whole time I was there. Sure they were dressed as tourists and flashed cameras right and center. But I figured the story needed to be told irregardless of any personal danger. I thought I lost them at the benches, but there they were at the ice cream parlour milling about in orderly rows waiting for me.

For the record, Flora is missing a bouquet of flowers. So if any of you recently received a bouquet with a left hand still attached place it in some plaster of paris and ship it to the park as quickly as possible.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

It would appear, Wendell, that someone in town is a left hand fetishist. So not only is she missing her left hand, she is leaning to the left as some sort of overcompensation. Thank you for sparing the family in the background on the left. They are personal friends, and their loss to a cloning accident would have been a painful story indeed.

I like the way they spelled out "Flora" with the begonias, and I'm a fan of coleus. At the local lake someone has spelled out, "Die Roger" with ducks, but that's an entirely different matter.

Nice presentation of "Lefty". Good overall composition. Good colors and sharply focused. A sure fired 40.

Very nicely shot and edited - she does appear to lean to the left but who hasn't at some time!

Cameras are like people--sometimes they lose focus.
