I have absolutely no idea who these people are. Their photo was found among a collection of old family photos. And apparently people back in those days were as adverse to wearing name tags as people are today. No shotguns can be seen, but no telling what Grandpa is concealing in the back.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

The bride is looking coy, the groom has something in his pocket and has a weird look on his face that would scare the ____ out of anyone anticipating spending a night with him and the rest of the folks just look pissed except for grandpa who looks constipated. Maybe the groom has had that look on his face ever since the lobotomy that took the top off his head.

For some odd reason I'm very impressed with your frame. Is that right out of PhotoShop? I'm disappointed, however, in that this is your first shot in almost a year that doesn't have a bench or a chair in it although just at the edge of the right frame is what appears to be a small portion of the arm of a rocking chair.

When I was seven or eight, my mother suggested that I write the names of my classmates on the back of the mandatory class room photo. I told her that it wasn't necessary because I would always know their names. Did you check the back of the photo? Half the time I don't even remember my own name. Should have listened to about the only intelligent advice she ever gave me. She also told me to watch out for girls because they have teeth "down there".

Is this your entry in the contest? Good luck if it is. Good luck if it isn't. If these were your ancestors you need all the luck you can get.

Roger

Most people did not smile for the camera like they do today..They do look a bit stern don`t they.I have many old family photos much like this and did the genealogy years ago..Nice to see these are still around.

Perhaps you are related to Bonnie & Clyde. I heard they looked nothing like Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty.
Maybe the photographers assistant was holding the gun. They sure look scared. That being said, this is a good find Wendell.
I have bought boxes with old photos at auctions and they never cease to amaze. I don't know them either.
So did you take a photo of the photo or scan it? Either way you did a great job.

From the bride's headpiece style and the other ladies I'm guessing this was somewhere around 1922-1928 - very nice editing job again.

These happy people would later pose for Grant Woods American Gothic. Hopefully the brides family won't be moving in. The Capone family also comes to mind. Love digging around in old photos. Thanks for the chuckle, and for saving this treasure forever.

Wendell - And, who said all weddings are joyous occasions? My daughter's wedding is in two weeks - I hope we appear much more joyous than this! Another good digitization. Thad
