Pretend for a moment that the poles and wires are not there and complain about something else instead. For the record I didn't bother to check to see if this shot is on the level, so it may be leaning one way or the other. Couldn't be bothered to sharpen it, either. Those are just a few of the many things I didn't do to the photo. But I could have,...oh I could have. I'll leave it to your imaginations what I did do.

This is one part of a four shot panorama. But you don't need to see the whole thing yet as it's all about trees for the next little bit. And the other bits of the scene were not trees in their entirety, though some of them were trying to be.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Wendell....

Should I hold my comments until you present us with the final stitched shot or should I bitch about this now?

Oh I think you should post the full version! I'm interested in seeing the whole thing and what you've done to it all. Beautiful color and great focus Wendell!!

I don't know what you did do or didn't, I know that I do love the deep, vibrant colors.

Hi, Wendell...

I'll assume that this is a standalone shot and comment inappropriately as always. I'll "Pretend for a moment that the poles and wires are not there and complain about something else instead." A moment is up. In fact, it's now been three moments...no, four moments...

Get rid of the pole and pole lines. They look familiar. Are they the same ones from your infamous sunset shot that Dorothy loved so much? But I'll pretend that you didn't mean "for a moment"; so I'll drop the pole line comments. The shot doesn't work for me because the tree is nearly centered. Everyone on Caedes has their pet peeves. For some it's color and for others (like you) it's noise. My pet peeve of the day is centering the subject of the shot. Secondly the focus is very, very soft. This shot is almost as bad as most of mine, and you know that expect better from you than that. They don't call me Mr. Blur for nothin'.

As for the horizon, it looks level enough. I'll get out my laser level and check it later. However, the horizon nearly splits the shot which irritates me. When Aunt Flo is visiting Dorothy, everything irritates me - especially when the horizon splits the landscape.

All and all, I like the colors and the reflection is excellent (except for those poles and wires that I'm not commenting on). There's too much going on with the riparian vegetation in front of the tree and the semi-focused forest of trees behind the subject tree. The colorful tree is being smothered.

Other than that, I love it. Ranks right up there with that shot of the aquarium and your neighbors rabid wolf.

With the lines in the water it won't be long until we won't notice them at all. Just substitute Nova Scotia for Georgia and enjoy while you still have power.

We seriously need to consider burying the power lines and eliminating the poles!!! It all seems so antiquated. For those of you who haven't heard,New Jersey and Connecticut were hit really hard with power outages due to downed trees on such major power lines. Having said that,I love this picture. It is what it is...
colors and reflections are quite nice!

Having buried utilities in my area I can vouch for the aesthetics of it and also the paracticallity in wind/snow - but there is so much beauty in this shot the poles can be overlooked.

The reflections of the poles in the water are stunning and nicely focused too.And I love how the power lines are giving a ripple effect in the water. The colours in the tree you captured a 100%. Plus the blue in the sky and it reflection in the water or stunning.Great looking mirror photography my friend.

Sorry, Wendell. Fell asleep again in Roger's diatribe :-).Just clone out the poles and wires, and it's a beautiful shot.
But leave the pole and wire reflections intact. They're not the least bit intrusive, but definitely unique.
