Yet another photo of a duck from the Duck Pond Folder for you fine folks to deal with as you please. This particular specimen was off by himself doing a bit of preening. Which is such a private act that I did not photograph out of respect for his privacy. That and the amount of bubble bath he used took a while to drain away for a clear shot. On the other hand eating habits are open game all year round.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

I've never seen this particular brand of mallard, Wendell. At first I thought that you had cranked the color saturation, but now I think he just has very orange legs. Not only do I like his pose, but this a sharply focused shot with an excellent reflection. I was taken aback by the shot as it was downloading from top to bottom and only realized later that I was looking at ice. The composition really works well with the brown foliage on the left and the duck's color on the right. I really love this shot, Wendell. It speaks to me like few others. Faved and congratulations on making me happy for a change.

He looks like he is gargling Wendell.
The reflection is so good.
You just can't duck the issue, this is a good post.

This is colourful, well composed and quite interesting,Wendell. A bit better overall balance can be had with a single crop from the bottom border, up halfway to the duck's reflection, or more precisely, right along the bottom of the horizontal reed extending towards the duck from the Lower left border.
It makes a significant difference.

Wendell - Excellent timing on this capture. I am glad it wasn't you drooling in the shot. Instead it was your droll-ing in the narrative! Terrific work! Thad
