A photo form several summers ago, lets call it the summer of '09. A hot and bright summers day and I was out for a walk for some reason instead of being inside with the air conditioner turned on and the fans going full blast while sitting in front of the open fridge door that was in bad need of defrosting with the curtains drawn and the shades pulled down to block out the light and heat. Instead I found myself in a field of lupines as far as the eye could see; if you happened to be on your knees and in amongst them. Otherwise you would have seen the wild grasses and trees beyond them. Anyways I spotted this bandit going about his business.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

And you caught the bee as well, good shot out in the hot sun. I share your hatred of the heat and after reading your text, I may try some of those radical 'beat the heat' methods.

I wonder if the bee remembers this tender moment as much as you Wendell. I would like to see you pick him out in a lineup.
Fields of lupins are a sight to behold, that's for sure.
Thanks for a glimpse. Good photo.

Wendell - NS roadsides are filled with beautiful lupines. They were in full bloom when we were there in '07. Thad

Nice shot. Thanks for sharing.

If I may be so bold, I'll go out on a limb and call this shot sharply focused. I know that you don't like when somebody says that one of your shots is sharply focused, but what am I supposed to do when I think the shot is sharply focused? Maybe I should say, "This shot has the focus of a razor" but that doesn't make any sense. So get over it and grow up.

One other thing...check out the third group of blooms on the far left. What is that pixel or two of red orange? Did you clone out part of a ladybug?

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

I agree with Roger about the focus as the detail is outstanding especially with difficult lighting such as mid-day full sun.
