The tidal flats outside of town as seen at low tide. Shot shortly after my encounter with a mad cow during yesterday's bike ride. She probably sensed the preternatural twilight that was about to occur and tried to warn me to take shelter.

The seagull was added in some post photo work. Otherwise the scene is straight from the camera. Shot with either the fader nd filter or circular polarizer attached to the lens to cut down on the sunlight in the scene.

Enjoy the photo and your comments welcomed.

This is a really lovely scene with a beautiful balance of light and contrast. I also think it was a very good call to add the seagull. It would have been a very flat image without anything specific thing for the eye to focus on had you not included it. It guides the eye through the image as this is the thing you alight on first and helps to emphasise the subtle perspective! Very tranquil :)

Well, the seagull must be in a hurry to get home before the 5 o'clock rush hour reaches its most frantic pitch. I, unlike the seagull, would want to linger a while longer to take in this scene.

I love this silver sheen and the neutral grey/blue sky and that one bird. A beauty of a composition. Faved.
