As in I've had reservations about posting this photo. There's really nothing here to look at. No one on the distant shore, no canoeists plying the calm waters, and no lake monsters lurking in the depth. No excitement whatsoever. This would be a view of the town reservoir so that might explain the absence of the canoeists.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Aah but it's very calming with the mare's tail clouds and the slight ripples in the water - saved it as it makes a great desktop to relive stress!

A very funny description of a fine photo and I agree; the picture is that of a calm flow and the colors have a relaxing energy. Well done.

You are right in having reservations and i do too about a lot of the images i post but sometimes its better to test the water and this is definitely one of those times. It breaks all the rules of photography and yet i find it extremely pleasing to look at. There is a subtle curving of the shoreline that encourages the eye into the image and the wavelets on the water provide enough interest to keep looking. It also gives a real feeling of space and depth! A great shot in my opinion :)

Well, Wendell, this would actually make a first class desktop. There's no clutter to speak of so it'd be easy to find your shortcuts. I had you ant colony shot as a desktop and couldn't find my recycle bin for days. While there's almost nothing here, there's also nothing to fault. The water, sky and land all look nicely focused and wonderfully colored. No blur, no noise, good contrast and depth, no oversaturation. Darn good shot and in reality one of the finest desktop shots of the month. This is Caedes Desktop Wallpaper, you know.

You're right, Wedell. Nothing to look at. Just land sea and sky, and all beautiful. You simply have to quit obsessing over young ladies.
