I was lied to.

I was told there was a perfectly good bench with plenty of shade to be found here. So out I set on a grand adventure to procure the seat. Several hours of wandering wayward paths and three wet boots later this was to be as close as I would get. I had enough of the bloodthirsty mosquitoes, the sticky humid heat and the mocking calls of the frogs. All had combined to do me in. Good thing the exit was close by because I wouldn't want to spend the night here.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

When the sky is that purdy a photo must be taken Wendell. That is the benchmark of a good photographer.

You're on a roll, Wendell. The shot is gorgeous for starters. It's always good when the subject matter could make it onto a calendar. Upon very close examination I can't find anything that's not in perfect order (other than the infamous missing bench). Not a bit of noise, no oversaturation of colors that plagues my postings and exquisitely well balanced composition. I've written 45 comments this evening and yous is the last one. I was going to write, "Nice shot. Thanks for sharing", but this is maybe the 2nd best shot of the batch. Mother Nature at her finest perfectly captured. Faves. If I had an AC nominations, I would consider using it. However, I've seen the stuff that's been making it into the Main Gallery. This is way too good.

Roger

P.S. "mocking calls of the frogs"? Did you think they were telling you that you might croak out there all alone?

~~Mutters!....bloody Wendell..got me searching for 'the Bench'..and now I am lost!!!~~~

Still...I can lie in this comfortable damp grass and enjoy the lovely surrounds at leisure...'Ahh-tishooo' (apart from the odd sneeze and coff!)

Beautiful scenery here pal...your countrysides are similar to ours!

Wendell - With a scene like this, a bench is not necessary. (But, thanks for looking.) Your post-photo work punched up the colors and contrasts nicely. Thad

Beautiful scene and photo. I love the look of that sky. A bench under that tree would have been nice. Lucky it wasn´t far from
the exit.

This is a beauty Wendell, although it pains me to agree with Roger - simply gorgeous sky.

Nice landscape Wendell but the clouds make the picture.
