A few years back my father decided to build a new workshop. So he hired some fella called Jacob to help in the construction. Jake claimed to have years of experience as a carpenter and brick layer. He just failed to explain the nature of his experience. The build might have gone a whole lot faster if the old man hadn't insisted on afternoon naps. During which the child whiled away his time improving his hammering technique. I think a few labour laws might have been stretched. Here it appears the boy is working through his lunch hour judging by the lunch-pail in the photo.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

That was when a 2X8 was 2 X 8, or you milled your own lumber.
Cute one, Wendell.

He will probably open a Tavern/Restaurant and call it "The Rusty Nail," Wendell.
What a great capture and narrative.
He does look like he has far to go before he is finished.

Great looking capture and it lovely when you can capture moments like this and look back in later years! The composition is spot on and lovely sharp detail too.I like how the little fellow as lined up is nails fist before he knocks them in lol. Also thanks for the music link it brought back memory's as i thought Thursdays child was mild and meek,so clicked on your link and all came flooding back.
