The Hector as seen in Pictou harbour, NS. The ship brought a boatload of Scottish emigrants to the area back in 1773. As you can see in the photo the last of them have finally cleared immigration and are getting ready to disembark.

Nice shot, Wendell. I'm guessing there was unwanted stuff forward of the bow, though cropping in close to the stern will increase impact and keep eyes from wandering out of the picture.

The Hector was an old ship and in poor condition when she left Europe. The arduous voyage to Pictou took 11 weeks, with a gale off Newfoundland causing a 14 day delay. Dysentery and smallpox claimed 18 children among the passengers. The vessel arrived in Pictou Harbour on September 15, landing at Brown's Point, immediately west of the present-day town of Pictou.

Wendell you have one stunning capture hear of one beautiful looking ship.The detail is lovely and sharp and the colours, and reflections in the water are superb my friend.Plus the blues in this shot are breath taken too.
