A lily of the red variety. Thus ends my exhaustive knowledge of flowers. Good thing it wasn't multi-coloured or my mind would have been blown trying to come up with a snappy title. Cropped where necessary, but not necessarily cropped. Outside of that I don't think I did much else to the photo.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

I like the selective coloring, Wendell. The B/W background really enhances the red. While it's common knowledge that your expertise of flowers is only unsurpassed by mine, I'm wondering if the flower's innards were naturally red. My guess, which is based solely on my total ignorance, is that you B/W monochromed the background and red monochromed the flower. I for one (well, maybe two) like the overall effect. The detail and texture of the flower petals is or are excellent.

You already mentioned the cropping; so I won't say anything about how close the petals are to the edge of the shot. I mean there's no need to continually point out flaws that you're aware of already; and it's simply not part of my personality(ies) to just rub it in and dwell on the obvious. So let's just ignore the entire issue of cropping for now although it very well might come up later.

All and all, I give you the following scores:
Originality: 9/10
Focus and clarity 9/10
Presentation: 8/10
Motion Blur: 0/10
Narrative: 5/10
Cropping: 2/10

The selective coloring makes this pop, nothing to really nick pick, except for the close to the edge at the bottom left, but otherwise this is superb. Tigs♥ =^..^=

I like the flower and the way you have left the rest in B/W. Good one Wendell.

Whoa, that red looks just stunning against the B&W background! I don't normally care for the color red, but this is certainly an exception. Fabulous work my friend!
